A little more info on this month’s special batch of coffee…
The Rwanda Nkanka Kinyaga batch is a rare coffee from the country of Rwanda, specifically from the Kinyaga cooperative. Cheers to Sweet Maria’s who imported these coffee beans directly and paid a premium price for these beans.
This is definitely a crowd-pleaser with aromas of baking spices, fresh cream, toasted hazelnuts, and a sweet brown sugar finish on the tongue.
According to Sweet Marias the Coffee Producers:
“Receives support from a Kigali-based group who not only provides advice on technical agronomy, but also offers business support to the coop.
Most coops fail for lack of management, not lack of coffee quality. So with this lot the farmer directly received 64% of the price we (Sweet Maria’s) paid.”
